When Christmas came around this year,
It was a different kind of atmosphere.
No chestnuts roasting and no mulled wine,
She just had me on that kitchen grind.
Had me siftin' flour, twenty-five pounds an hour,
creamin' butter like you wouldn't believe.
I need you to tell me baby what all this is for,
'Cuz I don't think I can eat anymore.
She said...
Santa's got a sweet tooth (ooh ooh ooh!),
And he's coming down the chimney tonight.
Santa's got a sweet tooth (ooh ooh ooh!),
And I wanna treat the big man right.
My baby spent the whole damn night,
Baking cookies, cakes, and pies.
I wonder why...
Later that night I heard a sound that didn't seem right.
I looked down, peeking from the top of the stairs,
And you can guess who was standing there.
It was old Saint Nick sucking on a peppermint stick,
His beard was covered in crumbs.
But when the treats were gone Santa moved on,
And my baby called me back to bed.
Wonder why...
I fell back to sleep and had the most terrible dream,
My baby was in love with one Kristopher Kringle.
No wonder she was making all those sweets.
I jolted awake, and she was gone!
All of a sudden I heard sleigh bells on the rooftop.
I ran over to the window and whaddaya know,
She was flyin' off with Santa Claus!
(Yeah yeah!)
Now I know why.
Please baby don't run off with that jolly old man,
He can't love you the way that I can!
He comes around but once a year,
And scoops you up right outta here?!
No baby it just ain't right,
Flyin' off on me like that in the middle of the night!
Please baby I can be sweet too,
Ohohh man what am I gonna do?!
(Ho ho ho!)
